The Housing Trust Fund Advisory Board assists and advises the Community Development Manager, or designee, with the establishment of the goals of the Housing Trust Fund and the establishment of essential policies, rules, and regulations relating to the implementation and ongoing operation of the Housing Trust Fund; reviews applications for funding from the Housing Trust Fund and make recommendations to the Community Development Manager, or designee; advises the Mayor and City Council at least annually on the expenditures, accomplishments and activities of the Housing Trust Fund; and makes recommendations to the Mayor and City Council of qualified and interested persons eligible for appointment to board vacancies.(City Code Chapter 2, Art. V, Div. 19)

The Housing Trust Fund Advisory Board is comprised of seven members, Tempe residents, and are appointed for a term of three years. The membership of the Board includes one member with expertise in the area of real estate lending practices, one member with expertise in housing development or construction best practices, one member with expertise in the rental housing industry, and four members with experience in housing related issues. Meetings are held quarterly.
