Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink.
Join the City of Tempe and the Tempe Historical Society, a private non-profit that supports the Tempe History Museum, for the opening of several new displays, including one that is very wet – “Ebb and Flow: Changing Views of the Salt River.”
Ebb and Flow is a 20-panel photo display that spans a century of Tempe’s history with the Salt River, including the creation of Tempe Town Lake. You’ll also get to see the 1890’s freight wagon, historic toys, a Rough Riders uniform and much more.
Museum staff will be on-hand for special guided tours. Vice Mayor Onnie Shekerjian will offer comments. Enjoy light refreshments and find out more about the Tempe Historical Society. The event and admission to the museum are free.
The event happens at the Tempe History Museum at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12. No need for RSVP – for details, visit www.tempe.gov/museumevents. The Tempe History Museum is located at 809 E. Southern Avenue, just west of Rural Road.
