“Keep on Moving”: Songs of the 1930s
An evening with the 198 String Band
The 198 String Band presents a live performance of mostly unknown songs from the 1930s. These are performed against a backdrop of compelling Depression-era documentary photographs on a large screen. The sequences of the songs and streaming images are interwoven with audio excerpts from oral histories, poems, and narratives, as well as historical commentary putting the songs and period documents in context. This program is in partnership with the ASU Public History Program.
