Michele Poulos is a writer and filmmaker living in Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently filming a documentary titled My Story in a Late Style of Fire about the late poet Larry Levis (watch the trailer). Included in the movie are interviews with Pulitzer Prize winner Charles Wright, winner of the O.B. Hardison, Jr. Poetry Prize David Wojahn, National Book Award nominee Kathleen Graber, and many others. Her poems and fiction have appeared in Crab Orchard Review, Copper Nickel, Sycamore Review, Miracle Monocle, and other journals. Her work is included in Best New Poets 2012. Poulos is completing her second MFA at Arizona State University in April. Her manuscript, titled A Disturbance in the Air, was chosen as the winner of the 2012 Slapering Hol Press Chapbook Competition.
