Southbound Priest Drive will be closed between Loop 202 and Rio Salado Parkway daily from Dec. 3 to Dec. 15. All southbound Priest Drive traffic will be diverted onto westbound Loop 202 or eastbound Center Parkway/Loop 202. Expect significant delays. Use Rural Road or Mill Avenue as alternate routes. Northbound Priest Drive is not affected. The reason for this restriction is to allow for the city of Tempe water meter replacement project.
The following transit detour will be in effect from Dec. 3 at 12:01am until Dec. 16 at 5:00am:
Route 56 Southbound – Regular route south on Priest Dr. to Loop 202; west on Loop 202/SR-143 on ramp (stay left to use SR-143 southbound); south on SR-143 to University Dr.; east on University Dr. to Priest Dr.; south on Priest Dr. to resume regular route. Due to the extensive detour, please expect delays on Route 56 during this period.
