The Transportation Planning division of Community Development manages long range policy and vision of transportation in Tempe, as well as executing short range project construction and design, in coordination with all regional planning agencies, local interest groups and the general public.
Tempe Transportation Planning staff coordinate the 20 - 30 year Transportation Plan and the transportation elements of the Tempe General Plan and the local and regional planning documents that guide the vision for transportation in Tempe.
Additionally the section leads capital development transportation projects such as pathways, transit infrastructure, streetscapes and freeways. This includes securing grants and guiding public design processes.
