Youth age 13 and above and adults may serve as an instructor's assistant for City of Tempe special interest classes for preschool and school-age children on topics such as art, dance, tumbling, sports, and more. Volunteers assist the lead instructor and help with class set-up and clean-up, craft material preparations and assist as needed. Volunteers also interact with class participants, helping them with class activities, monitoring behavior, supervising bathroom and water breaks, and more. Class subject matter, location, days and times vary. Class sessions are generally 4 or 8 weeks between September and November, January and March, March and May, June and July. The volunteer commitment is for the duration of the class session. All volunteers must complete an application and interview.
