Residents can drop off Christmas trees at the Household Products Collection Center, 1320 E. University Drive and the parking lot west of Kiwanis Park Recreation Center, 6111 W. All-America Way, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Both locations will accept Christmas trees through January 27, 2014.
Before dropping off any Christmas trees, remove tree stands and nails, ornaments, lights, garland, and tinsel. Christmas trees without ornaments, lights, garlands and tinsel will be chipped and recycled into compost materials. Residents should not place Christmas trees in garbage containers. This takes the space needed for household garbage and creates spillage when the containers are emptied.
Residents may place Christmas trees out for collection during their scheduled week for uncontained/bulky item collection. Please do not place your Christmas tree, or other uncontained items, out for collection more than 10 days before the Monday of your collection week. Please refer to the Brush & Bulky Item Collection Schedule to identify your collection week: Brush and bulky item schedule.
