Human Resources is committed to serving all City employees, and through their work, the citizens of Tempe.  We promote a work environment that accomplishes organizational and departmental goals, facilitates ongoing employee learning and organizational development and values diversity, as well as equitable and civil treatment of others.  HR is responsible for a variety of functions in support of all City Departments, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, classification & compensation, organizational development and training.

 

We strive to uphold the City's mission to "work with each other and the community to make Tempe the best place to live, work and play". 

 

Renie Broderick has served as the City of Tempe Human Resources Manager since September 2008.  Renie has a Masters in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University and previously served as the Director of Human Resources for the County of Allegheny, Pennsylvania and as the Human Resources Manager for the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority.
