Center Statistics

2006 was an amazing year with 2,900 visitors and a recycling rate of 88%.  We collected 170,000 pounds of hazardous materials, which if improperly disposed of would have serious negative impacts on our urban lakes and our precious groundwater.  Other positive impacts are difficult to measure, including a reduction in trash fires, house fires and cleaner neighborhoods.  

Fun Facts:

  • 12.5 tons of flammable liquids we collected

  • 4 tons of toxic or poisons materials were collected

  • 6 tons of batteries were collected

  • 2 tons of corrosive (Acid/Base) materials were collected
