The Maricopa County Assessor's Office (602)

- Do I need a permit to drain my pool?
Any person wanting to
drain a pool into a City of Tempe street or right of way must apply for a no fee permit. Occasionally,
depending upon the drainage patterns of any specific area, this permit may not
be issued.
If you are denied a permit, other options for draining your pool are: 1)
draining into the sewer cleanout on your property, or 2) draining on to your
property itself. Any draining of pool water directly on to your property
cannot result in water reaching the City of Tempe streets, alleys, or rights
of way, nor adjacent properties under different ownership. There is no permit
required to drain into the sewer cleanout, or directly on your property.
To apply for a pool drainage permit please provide the following:

- How does my company get on the on-call
list for working as a consultant on City projects?
The Engineering Division uses a process known as
short-listing. Each year the Engineering Division sends out a Request for Statement
of Qualifications for the City's medium to smaller size Capital Improvement Projects. The
City's application is available at this web site for consultants to fill-out. Once closed,
the City uses a Qualification Based Selection process for review of the applications.
Consultants are selected based on that criteria and placed on an appropriate list
according to discipline. Although the short-list is closed between recruitment
periods consultants are encouraged to fill-out the
application at anytime, as it is possible the City may find it necessary to go off the
short-list on a specialized or larger size project.
