MAPLE ASH
NEIGHBORHOOD STUDY
Overview:
At the October 12, 2006
Historic Preservation Commission Meeting, a group of property owners within the
Maple Ash neighborhood presented a nomination for Historic District designation
for the Gage Addition, Park Tract and College View Subdivisions. Following
public testimony and commissioner discussion, the Historic Preservation
Commission voted to eliminate College View subdivision from further
consideration and to recommend Park Tract and Gage Addition for historic
designation as separate districts.
The request for Historic
Designation for Park Tract and Gage Addition went before the Development Review
Commission (DRC) on December 12, 2006. Following public testimony and
commissioner discussion, the DRC approved a continuance of the case to allow
staff to explore Form Based Codes as a tool for the neighborhood.
