MOBILE HOUSING PROGRAM

 Keeping Illegal Activity Out Of Rental Property 

         The Tempe Crime Free Mobile-Housing Program is designed to help residents, owners, and managers of rental property keep drugs and other illegal activity off their property. The program is solution oriented. It is designed to be very effective in reducing crime in rental properties. The program utilizes a three phase process:

 Phase One

        A one-day FREE seminar presented by the Tempe Police Department. Topics include; working with the police department, warning signs of illegal activity, crime prevention strategies, crime free drug free lease addendum, becoming a pro-active property manager, strengthening rental agreements, residents and employee screening, eviction process, Arizona Mobile Home Park Residential Landlord & Tenant Act and building a community.

 Phase Two

        A security inspection is performed by the Tempe Police Department to ensure the property meets minimum security standards.

 Phase Three

        Mobile Home communities establish a mobile home watch property and promote the Crime Free Mobile Housing Program.

        At the completion of all three phases, the property will be granted permission to use the Crime Free Mobile Housing signs stating they have joined the Tempe Crime Free Mobile Housing Program. The property will also be granted the use of the program logo for their marketing purposes. The property will be audited annually for compliance in order to grant renewal certificate.
