Water Wasting Complaints

The City of Tempe has a Water Wasting Ordinance in effect that prohibits water running of a property to a street, easement, alley or right of way. This irrigation run-off damages the streets and undermines the asphalt roadways. The ordinance does not cover waste of water on private property.

To report a water wasting issue, please call the Water Conservation Program (480) 350-2668. If you have to leave a message please include the address of the violation, when it was observed and your contact information. Your information will not be disclosed to anybody other than City Staff but will be used for follow-up information that may be needed or to inform you what has been resolved.
