Charlie Meyer Bio
Charlie Meyer was appointed by the Tempe City
Council to serve as City Manager beginning December 2007. He oversees
a staff of more than 1,600 full and part-time employees and is responsible for implementing all City Council policy decisions, and
is committed to establishing a high performing and financially sustainable
organization that provides superior levels of service to the residents of Tempe.
Previous to coming to Tempe, Charlie was the Chief
Operating Officer for the City of Virginia Beach, Virginia; City Manager of St.
Louis Park, Minnesota; and County Manager of Genesee County, New York. He is a
graduate of New York University, with a Master of Public Administration. His
current professional affiliations include:
