Water Conservation Rebates

Tempe provides customers with rebates to support water conservation and efficiency upgrades. Learn more about applying to receive rebates and how best to improve the efficiency of your home.

Residential Rebates  Commercial Rebates
  • High-Efficiency Toilet Rebate - Receive a rebate of 50% of the purchase price (up to $75) of a new high-efficiency toilet that flushes 1.28 gallons per flush.
  • High-Efficiency Turf Irrigation Rebate - Upgrade an existing irrigation system with high-efficiency spray nozzles, rain sensors, and/or controllers and receive up to $500. A home water audit is required to participate.
  • Multifamily Turf Removal Rebate - Receive 25 cents per square foot of turf removed up to $3,000 to remove grass and install desert landscaping. For strips of grass between the curb and the sidewalk, receive $1.00 per linear foot up to $500.
  • Commercial & Industrial Turf Removal Rebate - Receive 25 cents per square foot of turf removed up to $3,000 to remove grass and install desert landscaping. For strips of grass between the curb and the sidewalk, receive $1.00 per linear foot up to $500.

Industrial Grant

Businesses who partner with Tempe to reduce water use by at least 15% may qualify for financial incentives for the cost of installing and upgrading water uses related to industrial/commercial processes, landscaping, and/or cooling systems. School Gardening Grant

Tax Information

Applicants receiving $600 or more in installation and/or removal rebate credits from the City of Tempe Water Conservation Department in a calendar year must submit a W-9 (PDF) form with their application.
