The Household Products Collection Center (HPCC) was the first permanent facility built in Maricopa County specifically for the removal and proper disposal of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) from residents of Tempe and Guadalupe. This sustainable program helps protect the environment by eliminating items from being poured into our sewer system or storm drains and thrown into our municipal solid waste stream increasing landfill space.

As of January 2018 over 98,109 residents have dropped off items to be recycled or reused at the HPCC. Since 2005 there has been over a 205% increase in participation including over 453,366 pounds of waste collected just last year with a 94% recycling rate! Total weight diverted from the landfill and storm drains is over 4,519,637 pounds of material.
