Storytimes

Baby Storytime (0- 18 months)
Mondays, Sep 11 - Nov 20: 10:00 - 10:40 a.m. 
Babies and their favorite grown-ups are invited to join us for 40 minutes of rhymes, songs, movement & fun! Program is designed to promote and support the ABC's of parenting: attention, bonding and communication. We save the last 20 minutes for play & social interaction.

Toddler Storytime (18 months - 3 yrs)
Wednesdays, Sep 6 - Nov 15: 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
Toddlers and their favorite grown-ups are invited to join us for 30 minutes of stories, songs, fingerplays & fun! Program is designed to promote and support the ABC's of parenting: attention, bonding and communication. We save the last 10 minutes for play & social interaction.

Preschool Storytime (3-5 years)
Thursdays, Sep 7 - Nov 16: 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. 
Join us for fun preschool storytimes that help prepare your child for Kindergarten. Preschool storytimes include books, songs, fingerplays and storyboards to encourage early learning. Activities are developmentally appropriate for children ages 3-5 years.

Family Storytime (All Ages)
Wednesdays, Sep 6 - Nov 15: 6:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Our youngest library customers and their family members of all ages are invited to the library for an evening family storytime where we will share books, music, fingerplays, puppet friends, and lots of interactive learning fun!

Saturday Storytime (All Ages)
Last Saturday of the month, 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.
Aug 26| Sep 30 | Oct 28 | Nov 25 | Dec 30
Join us the last Saturday of every month. Parents and children will delight in the joys of songs, rhymes, movement activities, and fingerplays that encourage early learning.

Preschool Storytime @ Changing Hands
One Tuesday a month, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
August 15, Sept 19, Oct 17, Nov 21, Dec 19
Location: Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe

Visit Changing Hands Bookstore for a Preschool storytime every third Tuesday that includes books, songs, fingerplays, and storyboards to encourage early learning. Activities are developmentally appropriate for children ages 3-5 years. Enjoy a themed craft after stories! No registration required. Fee: None.

Children will engage in dramatic and imaginative play as ASU senior theater students share stories and lead children in acting out the story's events. Children are encouraged to attend all of the sessions. Registration in required. Fee: None. 480-350-5500

Baby Bonding
Ages 0- 18 months

Location: Youth Library in the Family Corner

Play is a natural tool for children to develop socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. Drop in and join other parents and bond with your baby through play! We will have toys geared toward 0-18 months available for the hour. Registration is not required. Fee: None.

First Five Years
Ages 0- 5 years
Spanish Session: Mondays, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
October 23 - November 13
English Session: Wednesdays, 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

The Library and New Directions Institute for Infant Brain Development have partnered to provide the latest skills and information for parenting children ages 0-5. Learn about temperament, brain development, self-calming, positive discipline, and school readiness. First Five Years® is provided through a grant from First Things First. *Free childcare is provided by New Directions in the Storytime Room.
