Break-out the running shoes and get ready for the 5th Annual Arbor Day 5K on Friday, April 25, 2014!

We're excited to offer such a fantastic event in a new location this year - Kiwanis Park! With 125 acres of trees, activity areas and an urban fishing lake, Kiwanis Park is the perfect setting for this community fun run/walk that benefits the Trees for Tempe program.

Arbor Day 5K activities start at 4:30 p.m. with on-site registration and an event expo, followed at 6 p.m. by the 1-Mile Kid's Dash, and 6:15 p.m. with the Arbor Day 5K Run/Walk.

The pre-registration fee is $20 through April 24 and $25 the day of the event. There is no fee for the Kid's Dash, though on-site registration is required.

More than 400 people ran or walked in the 4th Annual Arbor Day 5K in 2013. Due to the generous support of our partners and the community, nearly $12,000 was raised for the Trees for Tempe program at our 2013 community event.

Where does the money go?
Race proceeds will go to benefit the Trees for Tempe program. After the 2008 summer monsoons destroyed more than 400 city-owned trees, Tempe was left struggling to find the resources needed to replenish its tree population. Now, with the revival of the Trees for Tempe program, residents and local businesses can take part in reconstructing the city’s landscape, one tree at a time!

What can you do?

The Trees for Tempe program welcomes monetary contributions and donations of time. There is no minimum dollar amount required to donate, and every cent is appreciated. Residents, organizations and local businesses can also donate their time to help replant the trees. Either way you choose to donate, you will have a direct impact on the quality of life in Tempe now and for years to come!

Donate Money to Trees for Tempe
