The City of Tempe has two public pools and three neighborhood spray pads. Public pools include the indoor wave pool at the Kiwanis Recreation Center and the outdoor pool at the Escalante Multi-Generational Center. There are three neighborhood spray pads are located at Jaycee, Esquer and Hudson parks. A new splash playground will open at Kiwanis Park in 2018.

City of Tempe Aquatics Needs Study

Share your thoughts on water attractions in Tempe! The city has completed a study of its water recreation amenities. The community is invited to provide feedback on the study results.

The purpose of the Aquatic Needs study is to identify where new water amenities are needed and to address gaps in service areas. The study assessed area demographics, took a close look at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, and analyzed Tempe’s current and planned water features.

Kiwanis Indoor Pool Open for WAVES and LAP SWIM

The Kiwanis Wave Pool is a year-round indoor heated pool featuring a lap pool with six lanes and zero depth entry. The Wave Pool is open during the Spring and Summer months offering 3' waves in varying patterns. The pool also features a 127 ft. long and 15 ft. tall double spiral water slide and splashdown pool. The Wave Pool is located in the Kiwanis Recreation Center. Click here for more information!

Escalante Outdoor Pool

REOPENS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

The Escalante Pool is a seasonal, outdoor pool featuring lap swimming lanes and a zero depth entry. The play pool offers water features and two slides for hours of entertainment. The outdoor pool is located at the Escalante Multi-Generational Center. Click here for more information!

Tempe Splash Playground

PERMANENTLY CLOSED

The Tempe Beach Park Splash Pad, formerly located at 80 W. Rio Salado Pkwy., has been permanently closed. A brand new Splash Playground is scheduled to open at Kiwanis Park in summer 2018. It is currently being designed. Click here for more info.

Tempe Spray Pads

April 29- October 29

10 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily


Spray pads are conveniently located in the following parks: 

    Jaycee Park located near the Westside Community Center
    Esquer Park just east of the Loop 101 and north of Apache Blvd.
    Hudson Park south of Apache Blvd. on Cedar St. between Rural and McClintock Rds.
