Youth and Family Arts Grant

Youth & Family Arts Grants are available to non-profit organizations to fund projects with a primary mission of supporting family and youth-centered arts programming in Tempe. The grant supports the following Public Art and Cultural Amenities Goals from the General Plan 2040:

  • advance Tempe as a vibrant and progressive community for cultural and artistic activity
  • collaborate with community partners; and educational institutions
  • enhance art that supports, educates and enriches the community

Amount: Grants are available for up to $8,000 and must be matched by equal cash contributions.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Applications must be submitted by a registered non-profit 501(c)3 organization, or apply through a fiscal sponsor.
  • Participants should be drawn from within Tempe city limits.
  • If working in schools, the schools must be located within Tempe city limits. Schools must apply through a non-profit organizations.
  • Applicants may be required to provide proof of Insurance for programming within schools.

RESTRICTIONS

This grant does not fund:

  • for-profit organizations, for-profit schools or for-profit after-school programs;
  • construction or renovation of facilities, capital expenditures, reduction of debt, feasibility studies, receptions, lobbying expenses, re-granting, scholarship programs or awards;
  • an organization or learning institution’s administrative or artistic staff salaries; grant administration, overhead or processing fees taken by an umbrella/parent organization as a percentage of the total award, with the exception of fiscal sponsors;
  • ·organizations that are incorporated for religious purposes or projects that focus on religious themes;
  • university- or college-sponsored projects - unless they are open to non-credit participants;
  • an applicant who failed to submit a Final Report from a previously funded grant.
