What
would you say if you had five minutes to tell the story you are most
passionate about to an eager audience? Ignite Phoenix and the creative
community of the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area want to know.
You’ll get your chance to shine on Tuesday, Nov.3, from 6 to 9
pm at the Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway in
Tempe, Arizona. This presentation night features 18 diverse speakers on
a wide range of topics, each of whom has just five minutes to light a
creative fire with the audience drawn from the business, creative, and
technical community in the Valley of the Sun.
The
presenters are chosen by a jury.
City of Tempe
Involvement
The
City of Tempe is
actively involved in making the Ignite program one of the most popular
activities in the metropolitan area for technology and knowledge-based workers.
The 600-seat theater at the Tempe Center for the Arts
is an appropriate stage for one of the world's most creative
programs.
What Is the Ignite
Program?
Ignite Phoenix is
part of the Ignite program conducted in major cities across the world
that brings together diverse people for an evening of information
exchange. "The technical, creative, and business communities in the
Phoenix metropolitan area are vast and impressive,” Moriarty explained.
“With Ignite Phoenix, we get a mix of talented people in the same room
and get them talking about their current projects.” The result is an
evening that educates, inspires, and entertains the audience and
connects previously isolated groups with new ideas, people, and
resources.
The short presentation length of five minutes adds to the dynamic nature
of the Ignite Phoenix presentation night. Attendees hear 16 passionate
speakers talking about their projects in a single evening with
networking time to allow for informal follow-up. Moriarty added, "The
goal is to get more people talking with each other. This is another
chance for Phoenix to show that we have the brains, the cool, and the
leaders to compete with any city in the nation."
How Can I Make A
Presentation?
If you have a topic
you would like to share with the Ignite Phoenix community, see

submission form. Moriarty anticipates a wide range of subjects. “The variety from the last Ignite Phoenix
made it so much fun. We encourage people to submit a presentation idea,
no matter how crazy you think it might be.”
