The silvery waters of Tempe Town Lake reflect more than the
sky above - the forecast the wealth of opportunities that exist on the
2-mile urban lake. The unique mix of open
recreational space, waterfront condominiums and office development of Tempe
Town Lake provides a lifestyle unparalleled in Arizona. Nowhere else can
people enjoy lunch hour sailing, have dinner at a fine restaurant just a
couple doors down, then walk home to live music.
Tempe Town Lake offers expensive opportunities for
development. Playa Del Norte offers space for retail, residential and office
uses. Hayden Ferry Lakeside provides 8 stores of Class A+ restaurant, retail

The Tempe Center for the Arts will be finished in 2006. A
pedestrian bridge across Town Lake will lead to it. A new $6 million marina
allows five lanes of boats to launch simultaneously.
More than 2 million people visit Tempe Beach Park at Tempe
Town Lake each year, making it one of the valley's most visited recreation
spots. Fiesta Bowl activities, Independence Day fireworks, 5K runs,
Oktoberfest, the Holiday Boat Parade and the
Live@theLake music series are just a few of the 100 annual public
celebrations.
Paved pathways surround Town Lake, creating great training
grounds for athletes, as well as casual strollers. Arizona Game and Fish
adds about 35,000 trout to Town lake each fall.
Rowing in the desert might seem unusual, but at Town Lake,
more than 2,000 rowers hit the lake at sunrise and sunset through the city's
Parks and Recreation classes and local clubs. University rowing teams use
the lake for spring and winter training.
Rowing isn't the only water sport available. The Arizona
Yacht Club teaches children to navigate on Town Lake's waive-free waters.
People in paddleboats enjoy new vistas with each push of their feet. Kayaks
around and Rio Logo offers electric boat cruises for those who don't want to
put in quite so much effort.
It doesn't matter if it's a picnic, in-line skating, or a
getting wet at the Splash Playground. Tempe Town lake is a great place to
