Tempe Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Block Party - Dec. 31
Named one of the top ten places in the nation to ring in the New Year by
USA Today, the Tempe Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Block Party is packed with
excitement and fun for the entire family. More than 150,000 people are
expected to be on hand for national entertainment, pep rallies, spectacular
fireworks, carnival rides and interactive games. This year's event
encompasses approximately 4 million square feet in downtown Tempe, including

Thanksgiving Weekend through the first week of January
Enjoy an electric light parade down Mill Avenue or watch a lighted boat
parade on the Tempe Town Lake amidst the twinkling tree lights lining the
streets. Fireworks, live performances by local entertainers and hot cocoa
vendors make a cool night under the November skies enjoyable. Rock and
Roll Marathon - January
Think of it this way - 26 miles, 26 bands. Run from Phoenix to Tempe in this
amazing race of will, courage and flat out athleticism. The varied terrain
of mountains, urban atmosphere and the finish line at the shores of Tempe
Town Lake will keep runners interested in the view. The reward concert at
Tempe Beach park features a national act. Way Out
West Oktoberfest - First weekend in October
This celebration of ethnicity is brought to Tempe Town Lake by Tempe Sister
Cities, with proceeds benefiting the group's international student/teacher
exchange program. The three-day festival draws more than 150,000 visitors
each year. Entertainers on all three stages include polka bands as well as
local rock and country groups. A beer garden features ales of the world and
the traditional brats and sauerkraut. And where else in the country will
children still want to play in water in October?
Fourth of July
Tempe Town Lake is the only place in the metropolitan area to watch
glistening fireworks over water, with the Mill Avenue bridges providing a
fabulous backdrop. Bur the real part involves so much more. Firefighters
display their trucks. Rowers demonstrate their skills. Regionally-known
bands entertain about 100,000 people from around the state who visit Tempe
to celebrate their love for this country
