Code Complaint Investigation
The Building Safety Inspection Section investigates
reports of building code violations; the Planning Division investigates commercial zoning code
violations. To report a code violation or obtain further

Notes: For code violations that are an immediate health, safety,
or welfare issue, please contact City of Tempe Development Services at 480-350-8341,

Permit Inspection
Once a construction permit has been issued and the work has begun, inspections must
be requested through the Building Safety Inspections Section. All work must be approved by the building inspector before
proceeding with the next step of construction. For your convenience,
Building Safety has a 24-hour Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) for
requesting inspections. Further information regarding IVR and Inspection
Requirements are listed below.
Requests received before 12:00 am (midnight) will be inspected
the following business day between 6:30am and 3:30pm. Requests can be
made up to 2 weeks in advance. For an estimated time of arrival,
call (480)350-8341, Option 1, between 6:00 am to 6:30 am, the morning
of your scheduled inspection
