Fire Prevention staff works with applicants in the plan review process and inspect
construction to
prevent fires from starting; prevent loss of life and property if a fire
starts; confine a fire to the place
where it started; and put out the fire.
The Fire Prevention plan review focuses on fire access, hydrant location, sprinkler
connections, fire extinguisher placement, alarm systems, fuel storage tanks, hazardous
materials storage, and other requirements of the Uniform Fire Code. Subsequent inspection
assures that construction occurs in accordance with the approved plans.
