Tempe Town Lake Junior Rowing
The Tempe Town Lake Junior Rowing Program has
been operating on Tempe Town Lake for four years. The athletes have traveled
around the country to compete at a national level. This team is open to boys and
girls ages 13-18 from all over the valley. The team is represented by many of
the local schools and the athletes come together to race as one. There is no experience necessary and the team
is divided into a Varsity Squad and a Novice Squad. Every year new athletes join
to become rowers and increase their opportunities to earn a college scholarship.
Practices are five days per week. Generally, they are five days during
the week from 4-6pm. This is a competitive sport, so attendance counts. Please
understand that even though this is a club, we conduct our program with the same
rules and expectations of a varsity high school sport. We accept athletes all year long so please contact the coaches to find out more
about the team. Scholarships are available for travel and equipment expenses. No
athlete will be turned away!
Summer 2008
Want to learn how to row? Want to
be apart of a competitive rowing team? Then come on down to Tempe Town Lake and
join the Tempe Town Lake Junior Rowing summer program. We practice 3 days a week
during the summer (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) from 7-9am. This is a great
opportunity to try rowing and prepare for our competitive fall racing season.
Our varsity program races all over the country and our novice program learns the
basics and races at home and in California in the fall. Sign up now for a great
summer experience.

Jr. Learn to Row
Pre-Season Junior Learn to Row-480-350-8069-This session will give athletes
a chance to learn some of the basics of rowing before the team’s season
officially begins on September 2. Take the Learn to Row class and find out if
rowing is for you. Fee: $60.

Tempe Town Lake Junior Rowing
Team-480-350-8069-Join the junior team and develop your rowing skills in a team
sport environment. The novice year focuses on learning the rowing stroke and
rowing fitness and will be eligible for our local race in October. The varsity
rowers will fine tune their skills and prepare for races around the country.
Float Test* will be held on 9/2 at a local pool for all first timers. Call to
inquire about rolling enrollment. Fee: $290
