Class Descriptions

  • Learn to Row- Designed exclusively for the beginning rower. Covers basics of rowing. 10-minute float test required.

  • Learn to Scull- This class will teach the student the skills required to row a single, double and quad. It is designed for people with no sculling experience.

  • Open Row - The fall rowing session brings all experienced rowers together for the Open Rowing and Sculling class. This session will focus on technique, fitness, and the opportunity to train in the TTLR community. Open Rowing and Sculling will be taught by a staff of coaches for the multiple skill and fitness levels that register. Sweep rowers and scullers will be rowing along side each other with an opportunity to try either discipline. This class is designed to accommodate both recreational rowers as well as competitive athletes with racing ambitions. Open Rowing and Sculling allows for open enrollment, please call 480-350-8069 to sign up. Prerequisite:  LTR 1 for Sweep Rowing; Learn to Scull for Scullers, plus Instructor approval.

  • Competitive Rowing - Designed with the serious competitive athlete in mind. Rowers are taught racing techniques, strategy and boat speed development. This class will be building toward a competitive national racing schedule. Prerequisite: One year plus rowing experience, with some racing experience.

  • Erg Fitness - Join this class with an interactive instructor who will lead you through the workout and hop off the erg to work with you on technique too! While there will be mixed experience levels in the class, the workouts will be tailored to the individual.
