In a series of meetings during the week of Jan. 21, Barton Myers Associates, Inc., of Los Angeles, in cooperation with Tempe-based architectural design firm ARCHITEKTON, presented schematic designs to the Executive and Steering Committees, User Group representatives, city of Tempe staff and other stakeholders in the Tempe Center for the Arts project. A presentation to the public was offered on Jan. 22 with about 65 people attending.

All presentations included advanced conceptual site plans, floor plans, theater plans, building elevations, seating plans, landscape plans and acoustical strategies. A study model of the 80,000 square foot building on the nearly 24-acre Tempe Town Lake site was available for viewing at all sessions.

Upon completion of the presentations, the Executive and Steering Committees directed the design team to prepare final schematic designs for submission to the committees on March 26, 2002. Following the final schematic design presentation, the architectural team will proceed to the design development phase of the project.
