Multi-talented saxophonist Ron
Blake is a well-rounded musician and has recorded three CDs as a leader; in
addition, his discography numbers more than 50 recordings as either a guest
or sideman with leading artists.
Novaballet features an all-American lineup of
choreographic talent. Emery LeCrone will be expanding Pulling to Break, a
work set to Philip Glass' Violin Concerto No. 1. Robert Dekkers returns with
an encore of his AnOther, an atmospheric piece.
Larry Loeber and Patrick Fanning, pianists; Dana
Pasley, violin; and Alex Laing, clarinet; will perform works, including the
romantic Poulenc violin sonata dedicated to the memory of Federico Garcia
Lorca and contemporary settings of American spirituals for clarinet. Cynthia Baker, violin; Abra Comitz, gamba; Jodi Buckles, recorder; and Janet Green, krummhorn perform Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque music evoking the spirit and pageantry of an age 500 years before Bach. David Spade, Emmy and
Golden Globe nominated comedian and star of the CBS sitcom “Rules of
Engagement,” will entertain as part of the 3rd Annual Friends of
TCA gala. The evening includes an elegant reception, sit-down dinner
and jazz with the Bob Ravenscroft Trio.
Many jazz critics believe Benny Green,
next to the late Oscar Peterson, is the world's finest jazz
pianist. From 1997 on, Benny led his own trios and concentrated on his solo
piano performances. His impressive recording career includes more than 100
sessions. This pageant, formerly the Worldwide Pageant, is dedicated to the philosophy that everyone has his or hew own sense of style and beauty. It is a "personal-style" and "achievement" competition that celebrates unique and special qualities.

performers are in the Arizona State University School of Music doctoral

Smitha Ramkrishna performs an Indian Classical Dance depicting intricate footwork and hand gestures. The dances are built around the stories of gods from the Indian mythology. Ramkrishna is an environmental activist and has won numerous awards for humanitarian work.
Harpist Lynne Aspnes,
associate dean at ASU's Herberger School of Music, joins Atlanta Symphony
violinist and Assistant Concertmaster, Justin Bruns. Aspnes has recorded
on the Collins Classics, CRI, ProArte, RCA Red Seal, Virgin Classics and
Pro Organo labels.
Artists in the “Read Me a Picture: Arizona
Children’s Book Illustrators” exhibition will present a panel discussion of

Nick Alvarez, cello, and Keith Kirchoff, piano, will perform diverse
virtuosic works, spanning Bach to the contemporary composer Leo Ornstein,
one of the most remarkable talents of the early 20th Century. The performers
have a residency in
Michael Kocour and jazz students from Newly created and familiar contemporary work from regional Latina/o and Native American artists will be on display in this specially curated exhibition.
