Robbery Suspect Arrested After Assaulting 72 Year Old Victim          

On August 9, 2009 Brian Scott Green, 50, was placed under arrest in the 1300 block of E. Broadway Rd, Tempe stemming from an incident that took place in the parking lot of Target located at 1818 E Baseline Rd, Tempe.

On June 26, 2009 the elderly female victim was in the parking lot of the Target store located in the area of McClintock and Baseline Rd, Tempe when she was approached by Green.

Green offered to help the victim load her items into her vehicle.  The victim refused and asked Green to leave her alone.  Green then pushed the victim with both his hands and grabbed at her vehicle keys which were attached to her purse.

Green was able to remove the keys from the victim’s purse and drove away in the victim’s vehicle.  On August 5, 2009 the victim’s stolen vehicle was recovered by Phoenix PD and returned to the victim. 

Once the victim’s vehicle was returned to her she located a prescription bottle in the passenger compartment.  The bottle displayed the name Brian Green.  The victim provided that information to Tempe Police Detectives.

During the follow-up investigation, Brian Scott Green was identified by the victim and was contacted by Detectives.  Green was placed under arrest at approximately 10:10 AM on August 9, 2009 and was transported to Tempe City Jail where he was booked and charged with one count of Robbery (A class four felony) and Motor Vehicle theft (A class three felony).
