Tempe Women's Club Park
College Ave. & Weber Dr.
2 acres
Formerly known as Marlborough Park, this park was
built in 1989 as a mini park and was named after Tempe’s
first women’s organization, the Tempe Women’s Club, a
group founded in 1912 that focused on “enabling women to
work more efficiently for the benefit of the schools and
the city in general."
In 1995, Tempe Women’s Club Park was converted into a
xeriscape demonstration garden to promote low water use
plants and desert landscaping practices. All of the
plants, trees and shrubs at Tempe Women’s Club Park are
identified by plaques and other signs so that visitors
can get practical ideas on how they can convert their
yards to desert-friendly, low water use landscaping.
