ROBBERY

Robbery is generally defined as the taking or attempted taking of property by force or threatened use of force.

A patrol officer will look into the occurrence and forward the report to the Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) Robbery Unit for further follow up, if indicated. The Robbery Unit is responsible for investigating robberies of persons and businesses. The Unit Sergeant reviews the case for priority and assigns it to a detective.

To ask about the status of your case, call 480-350-8901.  Give the call taker the case number provided by the officer.  If your case has been received and assigned by the Robbery Unit Sergeant, you will be told the name of the assigned detective.

Victims may be required to appear and testify in court to assist in identifying suspects.

If you have any additional information regarding your case, or if you have a change of address or phone number, please notify the assigned detective.  If a detective has not been assigned, please call the Police Department at 480-350-8311 to add this supplemental information to your case record, or print out a Citizen’s Mail In Supplement Form.
