Saturday: Tempe’s Urban Forest Workshop & Tree Expo

Learn more about the many ways trees can benefit people, communities and the environment.

urban forestry expoJoin local arborists, tree organizations and specialists to learn how you can help make Tempe a shady, tree-filled city that's even more cool! The expo will include: information on tree selection, xeriscaping, fruit and nut trees, planting and pruning dmeonstrations, kids activities and a tree raffle. 

The City's Draft Urban Forestry Master Plan, which will establish goals for Tempe's tree canopy and specific measures to reach those goals, will be available for review and feedback. 

Saturday, Feb. 25

10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Tempe History Museum

809 E. Southern Avenue

Presentation: 10 to 11 a.m.

Expo: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (all Expo tables will be exterior to the museum using the western sidewalk which leads to the solar covered parking lot)

 The expo features:

  • information about trees in Tempe
  • selecting the ‘right tree -  right place’
  • tree planting & pruning demonstrations
  • wildlife in the urban desert
  • low water use trees & landscape
  • how-to guidance for fruit & nut trees, keeping trees healthy, etc.
  • activities for kids
  • tree raffle
