Tempe, ARIZ – Thank that wonderful person or company who celebrates ability, advocacy, access and achievements by nominating them for the Tempe Mayor's Disability Award.

It's Tempe's 29th year of recognizing those people and companies who make our city a more inclusive place. Nominations are due by Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. Submit your nominations online and get more information at www.tempe.gov/disabilityawards

Nominees must live, work, volunteer or impact people with disabilities in Tempe.

Award categories include Outstanding Student, Exceptional Educator, Architectural Award, Business Leadership Award, Employer of the Year, Community Service and Pride of the City for those who have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to improving the quality of life for everyone in Tempe.

The guest speaker will be Arizona Diamondback Cory Hahn, the Diamondback’s 34th pick in the 2013 Draft. Hahn, a highly touted prospect,  was paralyzed after fracturing his C5 vertebrae diving into second base during the third game of his freshman season at Arizona State University.

After Hahn graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State in 2014, the Diamondbacks hired him as an assistant in the Scout Ahead Development Program, where he breaks down film and attends games searching for the next valuable prospect. He is a motivating, inspirational speaker.

The awards celebration will be hosted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25 at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe. Winners will be announced in advance. Due to limited space, RSVPs are required. Email Michele_stokes@tempe.gov or call 480 350-2704 to reserve your seats.
