TEMPE, Ariz - Eat, play and grow healthy at Wild Wednesdays this summer.
Through crafts, stories, music, motion and nibbles of nutritious snacks, Tempe History Museum will teach kids the essential facts and simple strategies that make healthy eating choices easy every Wednesday through July 30.
Kids can learn the importance of making positive choices in areas that most affect health: nutrition, exercise and sleep. To teach children about being healthy in our desert climate, the staff at Tempe History Museum has added a lesson on proper hydration and sun exposure as well.
Whole Foods Market Tempe will participate each week with snacks and products that match up to the lessons.
The weekly Wednesday program is based on curriculum developed by the Children’s Museum of Manhattan and funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in partnership with the National Institutes of Health. Best of all, it’s free.
