TEMPE, Ariz. – The end of the school year is quickly approaching here in Tempe and with summer just around the corner, it’s time to think about how you can keep your family busy during the next few months. The City of Tempe offers a wide array of new and returning programs for the Summer 2014 session - from health and fitness to sports, business and computers to boating, dance, music and theater to adapted recreation, you’re sure to find the perfect opportunity that will keep each member of the family engaged and entertained.
The current issue of the Tempe Opportunities Brochure also features the city’s selection of Summer Camps, offered in various formats from full-day and part-time, to week-long options. Though most classes and camps start the week of June 2, many programs begin or repeat throughout the summer, giving you the convenience of great programs at times that work with your travel plans or work schedule.
In addition to summer classes and camps, Tempe offers swim lessons for all ages and skill levels at both the Escalante and Kiwanis Recreation Center pools. Lessons are offered at a variety of times and days throughout the session. A complete schedule of lessons can be found in the online Tempe Opportunities brochure under the Aquatics section.
Registration is ongoing for Tempe residents and Non-Tempe residents, and can be completed in person at a City of Tempe recreation facility, via mail, by fax or online with a major credit card. There are still spaces available in many of Tempe’s classes and camps.
