Tempe PD Arrest 2nd Suspect for Mall Shooting
On Friday, March 7, 2014, Tempe Detectives arrested a second suspect, Perren Robertson, Jr. in the 6400 block of West McDowell Road, Phoenix. Robertson Jr. was arrested for the December 28, 2013 shooting which occurred at Arizona Mills Mall.
Detectives previously arrested suspect Voyee Smith for unlawful discharge of a firearm within city limits, endangerment, and duty to report striking an unattended vehicle, for involvement in the same incident.
The shooting occurred in a crowded mall parking lot at approximately 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday night. A victim was grazed and suffered injuries which were fortunately non-life-threatening.
Robertson's actions placed community members in the area at risk of serious physical injury or death; he was arrested for (3) counts of Aggravated Assault and (1) count of Endangerment.
