Tempe Public Library’s Writing & Cover Design Contest entries due Feb. 19
Aspiring writers and artists are invited to show off their talents in the 2018 Tempe Community Writing Contest. Writers can submit original work for a chance to be published in this year’s Tempe Writers Forum. Artists can submit original designs for the Cover Design Contest.
Submissions are being accepted now through Feb. 19. There are three writing genres from which to choose: fiction, poetry or creative nonfiction like memoirs or essays. Writers can enter one of three categories: High school student, college student or adult. Artists can see specs for the book cover by clicking here.
The contest is open to all Tempe residents, Tempe Public Library cardholders, high school students and ASU students.
Writers and artists can submit their work at www.tempe.gov/WritingContest through Feb. 19.
Entries are judged by members of ASU’s creative writing community. Contest winners will be published in the 2018 Tempe Writers Forum and recognized at a reception in April 2018.
This is the fourth year of the contest, which is a collaboration between the Tempe Public Library and ASU’s College of Integrative Sciences and Arts Writing Programs in the Department of English, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
