Post Date:01/11/2018 3:20 PM

The City of Tempe invites businesses, organizations and schools with a STEAM focus to participate in the 7th annual Geeks Night Out, presented by StateFarm. This year’s event will be held from 4:30 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 1 at the Tempe Community Complex (3500 S. Rural Rd.).

Geeks Night Out is Tempe's tribute to everyone who loves science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM.) The Arizona SciTech Festival signature event that allows everyone to discover the science in everyday things.

Participation in the 2017 Geeks Night Out was at an all-time high, with representation from over 70 elementary, middle and high schools, as well as college and university students, community partners and businesses.

Participants are required to have an interactive booth designed to engage the community through demonstrations and/or experiments. Geeks Night Out is BYOB event, which means exhibitors will bring their own tables, chairs, displays and anything else needed. Businesses that would like to sell merchandise will need a Tempe special event sales tax license. There is no sales tax requirement for sampling or displaying.
